FAQ's & Testimonials

Where are the cabins?

We are based on a small holding in the hills  inbetween Newtown and Welshpool Powys. (MID WALES)
Post code is SY16 3DX

How many do they sleep ?

The hot tub cabins :
The George and the Bothy - Both Sleep 4 plus one infant.
They both have 1 super king sized bed  plus 2 singles.
We have high chairs and travel cots available.

The Gathering - Studio apartment cabins:  (No hot tubs)
The  Apple , Blossom & Cherry - Each sleep 2 , they have one super king sized bed.
They Apple, Blossom & Cherry are STRICTLY adult only cabins - with no exeptions
(Even if your children are well behaved, can squeeze into one bed or are babies.... they're still not adults)
Why - Because sometimes people need space without kids being around, no matter what their age or how cute they are.

Where are we?

WE ARE HERE

Which ones have hot tubs ?

The George & The Bothy  both have hot tubs.
The Apple , Blossom & Cherry do not.

Why is a longer stay cheaper?

We offer a 1 night stay in the smaller cabins. but a 2 night stay is pretty much the same price!
The hot tub cabins have a min of 2 nights, however the longer the stay the better the deal. - make surethat you check the prices for a longer stay - so you get the best deal possible.

Do you have wifi?

All Cabins have WIFI
The Wifi is run via 4G routers . so it's not the fastest. but it's ok for general browsing and some streaming.

Can i bring my pets ?

No Sorry , we LOVE animals , but the cabins and surroundings  just aren't equipt to deal with pets.

Are the cabins private?

of course !  unlike most sites, the cabins do not sit on top of other, they are spread apart, you can be as loud as you like  and enjoy being in the hot tub without worrying about other people  being around. We have 5 cabins on the farm,  and we are often pottering about, but you will barely notice anyone once you  settle down and relax.

Whats the difference between the George and The Bothy ?

Not a lot !  They are pretty muich exactly the same, the Bothy has a slate floor in the kitchen and the George does not.  The George has a bigger parking area. but the differences are very little.

Why is there a minimum two night stay in the George and The Bothy?

its mainly to do with the hot tubs, We have to empty , clean and refil the  tub before and after each guest, this takes  quite a bit of time.  - not all places do this hence why other places will offer a one night stay, however, we cannot allow people to share other peoples water... you never know what goes on in the tub !  - We recommend a min THREE night stay if you wish to use the hot tub, as it may not be hot on the first night of your stay.

Do you offer any additional extras ?

We are always happy to help! , romantic get aways ? anniversarys, birthdays ... don't panic !  we'll sort you some flowers and special bits. ... need to propose ?  we have the best proposal ideas and can help you make things perfect! - just get in touch . upon booking you can add " something special" and we'll work our magic for you.

Wheres the nearest shop  / Pub?

The village shop is 3 miles  ,  Pub is 1.5  mile, the local towns are 5 miles.  there are lovely places to eat all within arlound about a 15 mins drive.
We even have a sneaky littke donations only Bar  on site - if you dont fancy walking to the pub.

Can my friends visit during our holiday ?

We'd prefer to know ahead of time if you have friends visiting during the day for security reasons.= please note,  you cannot sleep over the occupancy of the cabins inside the cabins. if your friends want to stay over. ask us about availability in our other cabins , and we may be able to fit them in.

We love meeting new people, and we're lucky that we get to meet people from all different walks of life, but the best thing is  when guests leave woodside farm as our friends. (and return!)

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time staying here. The pictures do not do it justice! And the scenery is outstanding! The area is so quiet which is just what we wanted! The cabin it’s self is absolutely perfect! The decor is spot on and the space is just perfect! The bed was to die for, don’t think I’ve ever slept in such a large comfortable bed! There was everything we needed in the kitchen including tea and coffee and little milk sachets. The cabin it’s self was meticulously clean. Hele her self was the perfect host, excellent communication, was lovely to talk to her about her animals...she just made our stay incredibly easy and relaxed. We will definitely be back and hope to upgrade to one of Hele’s bigger cabins as we did have major hot tub envy!

My partner and I booked the cabin for the weekend. Was clean, cosy and very relaxing with a beautiful view looking over the farm. The location was perfect and quiet, but only a short drive to the scenic walks in Welshpool and Rodney’s pillar. Local village pub is lovely and in walking distance (30 min). Had a brilliant weekend here, would recommend for anyone that wants a quiet break in Wales!

We had an amazing stay in an amazing place with an amazing host. The pictures do not do it justice, truly wonderful. Hele is a lovely host and was kind enough to offer us an extra night. She is very easy to get ahold of should there be any issues and very prompt with her responses. You can tell Hele puts in significant effort into making sure the cabins are 5*. Several towels provided, several bathing soaps, a fully equipped kitchen with cooking spices etc, these are just a few examples of the attention to detail Hele puts in. The cabin was spotless. The location is lovely, scenic and quaint. It's not far from the nearest town (Newtown). The local small villages are lovely, specially if youre from a big city and not used to the quiet life. Signal for the phone may be difficult at times but thats obviously nothing to do with Hele or the accommodation. I would definitely recommend and come back. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had a lovely stay at these cabins. The scenery was amazing and sitting under the stars with an open fire in peace and quiet was just perfect for me and my partner. The cabin was clean and spacious with a very comfy bed. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent, well-kept & cosy cabin, perfect for a couple & everything in the cabin worked great. The area itself is very serene/peaceful, but also only an hours'(ish) drive to Snowdonia, so we enjoyed a lovely mix of active days out and comfortable evenings in. Hele was very friendly & helpful with directions & flexible with the self check-in as we had to arrive quite late and everything was ready for us to use without having to disturb anyone! Would absolutely recommend to anyone who fancies a getaway!

We were blown away with how beautiful the Blossom cabin looks in person, set in the picturesque area of Mid Wales the cabin is only a stone's throw from the larger towns and with a host of places to visit nearby it makes it the ideal location to stay. Hele is a fantastic host, communication was very quick and with the option of independence whilst staying it was nice to know she was there if we needed anything. Set amongst a working farm makes it such an interesting and unique place to stay, and I'm confident you've never stayed anywhere like it. All amenities you could imagine are provided, the facilities are sleek and modern and the bed is the most comfortable thing known to man. We had an amazing weekend and couldn't recommend it more highly.

Our stay at Hele’s Log Cabins was amazing! When we arrived, the cabin was ready and waiting for us. Before we went in we stopped to admire the landscape and how quiet it was! The cabin itself was beautiful, sparkling clean with every amenity you could ask for as well as thoughtful extras such as a phone charger and things for cooking in case you needed it! Hele was lovely and accommodating. It is in a beautiful location with plenty of sights to see and places to eat. Would definitely return here as it was such a relaxing experience, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bit of a break! Thanks very much Hele x

Cosy cabin in a beautiful area of Wales, fantastic value for money. Spent most of the weekend cwtched up in the warmth, and it couldnt have been a better place to do so. Hele is a fantastic host, couldn't do enough for you, and Gary is the sweetest dog known to man, they really made the stay special. The locals are also incredibly kind, with one barmaid giving us a lift home because she didn't want us charged extra to get a taxi that far out. The views are phenomenal and there's plenty to do in the area, provided you're looking for a quiet weekend away to enjoy yourself. Couldn't recommend enough, and have been to every person I've bumped into so far. 10/10
