At every farm, there’s that guy.
The one who struts around like he owns the place, puffs up
whenever someone’s watching, and somehow manages to
charm everyone with the smallest gobble.

Here at the cabins, that guy is Roger—our resident Bourbon
Red turkey, proud flock leader, shameless flirt, and undisputed
Feathered King of Sass.
 

🦃 Meet Roger: Big Beard, Bigger Ego

Roger isn’t just a turkey.
He’s a Bourbon Red, a heritage breed known for their stunning
rusty-red feathers and charismatic personalities. Roger has taken
“charismatic” and turned it into a full-blown lifestyle brand.

He struts. He fluffs. He gobbles with gusto.
He knows exactly when someone’s got a camera, and yes—
he does angle his snood just right for the best lighting.
 

💘 Eight Girlfriends. Yes, Eight.

Roger lives in a little turkey paradise, surrounded by his eight girlfriends—each with their own personality and varying levels of patience for his nonsense.

Let’s just say:
They’re the hens. He’s the drama.

Every morning, Roger parades through the paddock like he’s starring in a very poultry-themed soap opera. Wings out. Tail fanned. Head held high. The ladies? They're mostly pecking for snacks and pretending they haven’t heard this routine 500 times before.

But make no mistake—they adore him (even if they roll their eyes a little).
 

🍂 Roger’s Daily Schedule:

6:00am – Wake up the entire farm with unnecessary gobbling.
6:05am – Begin morning strut. Tail feathers: fully deployed.
7:00am – Courting dance for Hen #3. She’s unimpressed.
9:00am – Chase imaginary threats across the paddock like a feathery linebacker.
12:00pm – Midday sunbathing. Gobble softly in sleep.
3:00pm – Dance-off with his reflection in a water bucket.
5:00pm – Dinner. He eats like he hasn’t seen food in years.
7:00pm – Retire to roost with his girls, proud, puffy, and probably planning tomorrow’s grand entrance.

• 🦃 Bourbon Red turkeys are a heritage breed known for their beauty and gentle nature (except during strutting season, then it’s full diva mode).

• 🧠 Turkeys are smart! They recognize faces, remember routines, and will absolutely throw a tantrum if you’re late with dinner.

• 💃 Males are called toms, females are hens, and a group of turkeys? That’s a rafter. Or, as we call it, Roger’s fan club.

• 🎵 Turkeys have over 20 distinct vocalizations. Roger uses all of them before breakfast.
